Just a few miles South of Mission Beach is another sleepy beach town. Like stepping back in town you can stroll down Newport Ave for an hour or a day looking through the antique shops. Locals call ocean beach “OB” and believe it is a state of mind not just a place. Once again this town is right on the water with the OB Pier and fabulous sunsets. If you continue just a few miles south into Point Loma be sure to go to Cabrillo Monument that offers the most breathtaking views of San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean. There are also tide pools to explore and old lighthouse surrounded by scenic nature trails.
